About Me

I am a city girl marrying a country boy - and I couldn't be more excited about it!! I love everything vintage, and I'm currently planning my wedding! I have a cute, crazy dog named Jack who is a miniature husky. I am getting another puppy through Jonathan - a basset hound named Ellie Mae :) I'm a graphic designer, and try my hardest to be crafty and make cute things (although I'm not very successful so far haha!). I love my family, Christ, and my wonderful, amazing fiance!

First Tutorial!

This tutorial I originally saw in an arts and craft magazine at the bookstore (can't remember the name of it....next time I go I'll write it down and post it).

Ok so here is the final product of the rose that I made out of ribbon.

Here is what you will need:
  1. Wired ribbon (you could probably use regular ribbon, but it would be more difficult to manage)
  2. Hot glue gun (I got mine from Hobby Lobby for $3)
  3. Scissors

First Step: don't cut the ribbon (you will use more than you think you will). Fold one corner of the ribbon down to meet the edge to make a triangle, then fold again to make another triangle. This fold will make the center of the rose. I secured this with a drop of glue.

Second Step: wrap and twist the ribbon around the center you just made. Don't be afraid to twist a lot! Secure the ribbon after each wrap.

Third Step: wrap the end of the ribbon around the bottom to make it nice and neat and tidy :) after I finished, I pressed the flower together to flatten it a bit which seemed to really show off the "petals."

This was my first attempt and I think it turned out pretty good! I'm feeling kinda crafty :)
